Thomas Vogler is Head of Project Management at Hitachi Zosen India. He holds a masterís degree in Mechanical Engineering and in Business Administration. He is with Hitachi Zosen since 2007 and was involved in several Waste to Energy projects in the Netherlands and in Switzerland as a project manager. He came into contact with waste management issues of emerging countries for the first time, when he analyzed the waste management environment of Brazil for his master thesis at the University of Applied Sciences Zurich. In 2012, he relocated to India to set up a local branch office with the aim to successfully introduce Waste to Energy technology in the Subcontinent. He sees Waste to Energy as one part out of many in an integrated waste management system and therefore engages himself in raising awareness for the importance of sustainable waste management in India.
