Jacquie Ottman is the Founder of We Hate To Waste and an Advisor to be Waste Wise.
Since 1989, as founder and principal of the NYC-based J. Ottman Consulting, Inc., Jacquie Ottman has been advising Fortune 500 companies and several U.S. government ecolabeling programs, including the US EPA’s Energy Star label, on positive strategies for encouraging more sustainable forms of consumption.
She is the author or co-author of five books on green marketing, including The New Rules of Green Marketing (Berrett-Koehler, 2011), named a Top Sustainability Book of the Year by Cambridge University (UK), and How to Make Credible Green Marketing Claims: What Marketers Need to Know about the FTC’s 2012 Green Guides (Advertising Age, 2013).
In 2012, propelled by the societal movement towards zero waste, Ottman founded We Hate To Waste, an online platform for illuminating global best practices for community-based waste reduction initiatives. She and her team are now engaging communities in waste prevention via workshops, keynotes and consulting engagements.
