Peter Cohen

  • Dr. Peter Cohen is a Social Development Consultant for institutions including the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the World Bank. He holds a Doctorate in Applied Anthropology from Columbia University and has more than 10 years’ experience in involuntary resettlement and informal livelihoods issues in donor-supported infrastructure interventions. Over the past 6 years, Dr. Cohen has focused particularly on the design and implementation of informal sector inclusion strategies in the solid waste sector, in countries including Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Morocco, Ghana, Haiti, Peru, West Bank-Gaza, Guyana, Tunisia, Guatemala and Kyrgyzstan.
  • Dr. Peter Cohen es un Consultor de Desarrollo Social del Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (BID) y del Banco Mundial, entre otros. Tiene un Doctorado en Antropología Aplicada de la Universidad de Colombia y tiene más de 10 años de experiencia en reasentamiento involuntario y en temas de subsistencia informal en intervenciones de infraestructura apoyadas por donantes. En los últimos 6 años, el Dr Cohen ha centrado especialmente en el diseño e implementación de estrategias de inclusión del sector informal en el sector de residuos sólidos, trabajando en países incluyendo Colombia, Brasil, Argentina, Marruecos, Ghana, Haití, Perú, Cisjordania y Gaza, Guyana, Túnez, Guatemala,y Kirgistan.
