Latin America and Caribbean countries generate over 200 million tons of waste annually, of which 27% is disposed of in open dumpsites, and less than 10% of the waste is utilized. Circular economy can improve waste management systems and public health, reduce GHG emissions, and promote efficient manufacturing while generating over 4.8 million new jobs by 2030. Achieving the circular economy goals requires easy access to preferential capital.
