Sapna Narula
Prof Sapna Narula currently serves Nalanda University as a Professor & Dean of School of Management Studies. As a distinguished academician, she has made immense contributions to the ESG and sustainable business domain through her teaching, research and consultancy efforts. Over the last two decades, she has taught a range of subjects such as sustainability management, ESG reporting, corporate social responsibility, sustainable business strategy and business, ecosystems and community and agribusiness management.
During her career span of 22 years in teaching, research & consultancy, she has also played a key role in designing innovative academic programmes, executive management programmes in the area of ESG, sustainability reporting, CSR, Sustainable Business Strategy and launched various sustainability initiatives for youth awareness regarding climate change and SDGs such as Green Shift (2018), BLISS (Building Learning in Sustainability Science, 2014), Global Summer School on Sustainability. She has been on the jury of many CSR and ESG awards initiated by CII, Assocham, UNGCNI, Pepsi, CRY, CDF changemakers etc.
A recipient of many awards notably Prosper.Net Scopus Young Scientist Award for Sustainable Development, 2011 delivered jointly by German Ministry, United Nations University & Elsevier and a Young Scientist Award (2009) from Uttarakhand Council for Science and Technology, Government of Uttarakhand, She has worked on research projects funded by various national and international organizations EPSRC, DFID, IFAD, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Deakin University, Ministry of Coal, Environment & forests and Ministry of agriculture. One of the research projects where she led sustainable livelihood work has also won the UN Global Compact Innovative SDG Practices Award 2019.
Through her research and capacity building work, she has also contributed to a number of Central Govt. Initiatives such as Comprehensive District Agricultural Plan, AGMARKNET ( Agricultural Marketing Information Network ) scheme, Agriculture Marketing Infrastructure Scheme, National Agricultural Innovation Programme, National Mission for Sustainable Agriculture, State Action Plans for Climate Change in Maharashtra and Assam, Rural Godown Scheme ( MoA), Agri- Export and other schemes of Govt. of Uttarakhand and other states
Prof. Sapna A. Narula has been on the Board of Directors of Global Network for Sustainable Development, Arizona, US ever since its inception in 2014 and is currently leading as its President since July 2020. She has been associated with UN Global Compact Network of India, PRME (Principles of Responsible Management Education), Connecting Dreams Foundation and National Agricultural Higher Education Project (ICAR) in various advisory roles for the cause of sustainable development goals.
