Dr. Judlyn Telesford-Checkley is an environmental scientist, entrepreneur, and sustainability consultant with over 20 years of experience in environmental management, waste management, climate change, and natural resource conservation. She holds a PhD in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences from Texas A&M University and has worked across government, academia, and international development initiatives in the Caribbean and the United States.
She is the CEO and Co-Founder of GrenadaGrows Ltd., a circular economy enterprise focused on transforming organic waste into high-value soil enhancement products while supporting climate resilience, food security, and sustainable agriculture. Through GrenadaGrows, she leads the Greening Grenada Market Composting Pilot, an innovative public-private partnership that diverts organic waste from landfills and converts it into compost and other soil health products.
Dr. Telesford-Checkley has contributed to several national and regional climate and environmental initiatives, including Grenada's Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), National Ecosystem Assessment, and low-emission development planning. Her work focuses on developing practical, scalable solutions that create environmental, economic, and social benefits for Caribbean communities.
