Circular Economy Director, Industrious Labs

Katherine is the Circular Economy Director for Industrious Labs. Industrious Labs works to reduce emissions from landfills, improve outcomes for communities impacted by waste and keep waste out of landfills to create family-sustaining jobs, improve soil quality, reduce food insecurity and boost economic development. Katherine has over 20 years of experience in generating collaborative solutions and policies that improve people’s lives. Most recently, she served as the Assistant Commissioner of the Division of Energy Resources at the Minnesota Department of Commerce, where she oversaw large-scale regulatory programs, managed multi-tiered diverse staff and budgets and developed policies including green bank, economic incentives for clean technology businesses, and time-saving improvements to the energy project siting process. anserved as interagency lead for climate initiatives developing policies and initiatives that became part of the State’s Framework for Action on Climate Change. A graduate of Oberlin College and the University of Michigan’s Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy, she is a Truman Scholar.
