Loula is an Environmental Engineer and Research Consultant, currently an Honorary Research Fellow at Brunel University London. Her research focuses on sustainability assessment of resource and waste management systems, with expertise in plastics value chains and sustainable packaging. She has been working on international research initiatives, including the PISCES partnership and related projects on the Indonesian plastics value chain, where she applies the Complex Value Optimisation for Resource Recovery (CVORR+) framework to assess system performance and identify intervention pathways. Spyridoula has extensive experience in interdisciplinary research, stakeholder engagement, and policy-relevant analysis, and has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on plastics, resource systems, and circular economy transitions. She has also teaching experience on solid waste management and has delivered training on systems thinking and sustainability.
