David Greenfield, Founder and MD @SOcial, ENvironmental & EConomic Solutions (SOENECS)
David is managing director and founder of SOENECS, a research and innovation practice in 2014 following 15 years in leadership roles in local and regional government. SOENECS provide strategic research, advice, training, solutions, chairing and facilitation on the topics of circular economy, environmental auditing, waste & resource management. His innovative projects include co-founding www.potholespotter.co.uk and www.techtakeback.co.uk. David is leading the creation of the Brighton & Hove City Council Circular Economy routemap.
David is responsible for External Affairs in Europe for the “Circular Economy Club (CEC)”, he is also a Mentor and the organiser of CEC London, co-organiser of Circular Brighton & Hove, he is non-executive Chair of the CIWM Enterprises Board, Trustee and Director of Freegle, Chair of the ICE Resource Management Panel, Government Adviser to DEFRA and MHCLG and advisor and past chair to the National Waste Network Chairs (WNC).
Trewin Restorick is Founder and CEO of the charity Hubbub UK www.hubbub.org.uk which transforms the way environmental messages are communicated by bringing people and organisations together as a force for good. In 2020, Hubbub won Charity of the Year and Trewin was recognised with a Leader of the Year award. Trewin has a track-record of creating successful environmental enterprises including PaperRound a flourishing recycling business and Global Action Plan a long-established environmental charity. These enterprises were created built on experience gathered through roles he filled at Friends of the Earth where he was Director of Fundraising and at Plymouth City Council where he supported the creation of new social enterprises. Trewin is a frequent media commentator on environmental issues and was trained by Al Gore as one of his climate change ambassadors. He is currently an environmental advisor to a Tetra Pak, the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation and the National Lottery Climate Fund.
Stephen Clarke, Head of Communications @Terracycle and Loop Europe
Stephen’s role is to oversee the communications strategy and PR teams for both TerraCycle Europe and Loop Europe. This involves the development and implementation of both reactive and pro-active media relations campaigns, promoting TerraCycle and Loop’s work and recycling / reuse initiatives. He also acts as the media spokesperson for both TerraCycle and Loop in the UK. Stephen has worked at TerraCycle since 2011 and altogether has over twenty years PR and communications experience. Prior to joining TerraCycle (from 1997 on graduating until 2011), Stephen worked at and then ran the divisions of a number of London based PR agencies, across a wide range of industry sectors including consumer lifestyle, sports sponsorship and food, drink and nutrition.

Adam Read is the moderator of this interaction. He is the Director of External Affairs at SUEZ Recycling & Recovery. Adam has specialized in waste management policy development, strategic decision-making, behaviour change, procurement and training for the last 19 years, first as a municipal waste management officer, then as a University based researcher, and for the last 12 years as a consultant working globally on waste services and strategies.
