Senior consultant with over ten years of international experience in the management of sustainable development projects. Specialist of integrated waste management and circular economy.

Responsible for the development of the Master Plan for integral waste management for the Metropolitan District of Quito. Developer of several solid waste projects such as “Quito a Reciclar”, waste data information systems and author of the waste sector of the “Environmental Atlas 2016”, several publications and studies of waste treatment mechanisms in Quito and Ecuador. Co-founder of the initiative “Recicla Esperanza”.

Responsable del desarrollo del Plan Maestro de gestión integral de residuos para el Distrito Metropolitano de Quito. Desarrollador de varios proyectos de residuos sólidos como “Quito a Reciclar”, sistemas de información de datos de residuos y autor del sector de residuos del “Atlas Ambiental 2016”, varias publicaciones y estudios de mecanismos de tratamiento de residuos en Quito y Ecuador. Alejandra Rivera, Lead, “Sumando Impactos” @Let’s Do It El Salvador

Alejandra Rivera is an expert in integrated solid waste management with 10 years of experience. She is the co-founder and has been the president of Asociación Sumando Impactos from August 2017 to February 2021. She currently leads the “Sumando Impactos” program in the coastal sites of the Barra de Santiago and Los Cóbanos communities in its third year of implementation through the sustainable development organization, Let’s Do It El Salvador, where ecotourism is promoted as a starting point to overcome the barriers of local development.

Alejandra has studied Sustainable Solid Waste Management in Latin America and the Caribbean by the University Consortium of Latin America for Waste Management, has a bachelor’s degree in communication sciences from Dr. José Matías Delgado University. She has a master’s degree in social project management from the IDB and has studied methodologies for mobilizing knowledge to action at the Tropical Agronomic Center for Research and Teaching. Alejandra also has a diploma in corporate social responsibility from Fondo Verde, and a diploma in political systems and public management from the Central American School of Government and Democracy.

Alejandra Rivera es experta en gestión integral de residuos sólidos con 10 años de experiencia. Es co-fundadora y ha sido presidente de Asociación Sumando Impactos desde agosto 2017 a febrero 2021. Actualmente dirige el programa “Sumando Impactos” en sitios costeros de las comunidades Barra de Santiago y Los Cóbanos en su tercer año de implementación en la organización de desarrollo sustentable Let’s Do It El Salvador, donde se promueve el ecoturismo como punto de partida para superar las barreras del desarrollo local.

Alejandra ha estudiado Gestión Sostenible de Residuos Sólidos en América Latina y el Caribe brindado por el Consorcio Universitario de América Latina para la Gestión de Residuos, tiene una licenciatura en ciencias de la comunicación de la Universidad Dr. José Matías Delgado, una maestría en gestión de proyectos sociales por el BID, ha estudiado metodologías de movilización del conocimiento a la acción por el Centro Agronómico Tropical de Investigación y Enseñanza, así como un diplomado en responsabilidad social corporativa por Fondo Verde, y un diplomado en sistemas políticos y gestión pública brindado por la Escuela Centroamericana de Gobierno y Democracia.

Vishwas Vidyaranya, Founder, Ambire Environmental Engineering Solutions

Vishwas is the co-founder of Ambire, a company focused on consulting and digital solutions in circular economy and climate change. He has over 10 years of international experience in circular economy, waste and water management, financial analysis, climate change resilience and sustainable cities. He holds a master´s degree in Sanitary Engineering and waste management from Leibniz Universität Hannover, Germany and is based out of Bogotá, Colombia.

Vishwas has implemented over 4.000 tonnes per annum capacity of decentralized waste recycling systems and designed over 150.000 tonnes per annum of centralized waste treatment systems This includes five material recovery facilities ranging from 20 TPD to 250 TPD capacities.

He is actively involved in professional organizations like ISWA and its Young Professionals Group (YPG). He is also a member of ISWA’s working group on landfills. He has several publications and a US Patent on the energy management system to his credit.
