Vice President, Solid Waste Association of North America
Brian Tippetts is the International Vice President of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) and the Director of the Solid Waste Division at Applied Ecological Services in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Early in his career, as a Landfill Manager, he initiated recycling programs for paper and vehicle batteries. As the Director of La Crosse county’s disposal system, he directed an outstanding five county, two state regional integrated solid waste disposal system and provided leadership to improve recycling and waste collection rates and costs. Among other awards, he is a recipient of 2008 Professional Achievement Award from the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA), and 2007 Environmental Leadership Award from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
