In 2017, Dr Lystra Fletcher-Paul of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) reported that the Caribbean and Latin America waste a staggering 78 million tons of food annually, which totals 6 per cent of global food production, and Trinidad and Tobago is the most wasteful country in the region.
Although this statistic is daunting, to say the least, there has been work happening in this space that this webinar shines a light on.
