Alejandra Rivera

Co-founder, Asociación Sumando Impactos

Alejandra Rivera is an expert in integrated solid waste management with 10 years of experience. She is the co-founder and has been the president of Asociación Sumando Impactos from August 2017 to February 2021. She currently leads the “Sumando Impactos” program in the coastal sites of the Barra de Santiago and Los Cóbanos communities in its third year of implementation through the sustainable development organization, Let’s Do It El Salvador, where ecotourism is promoted as a starting point to overcome the barriers of local development. Alejandra has studied Sustainable Solid Waste Management in Latin America and the Caribbean by the University Consortium of Latin America for Waste Management, has a bachelor’s degree in communication sciences from Dr. José Matías Delgado University. She has a master’s degree in social project management from the IDB and has studied methodologies for mobilizing knowledge to action at the Tropical Agronomic Center for Research and Teaching. Alejandra also has a diploma in corporate social responsibility from Fondo Verde, and a diploma in political systems and public management from the Central American School of Government and Democracy.
