Aliyu Sadiq

Aliyu Sadiq is an environment and development professional with over half a decade of experience in developing and advocating for climate, waste management, and circular solutions. He is currently a graduate student under the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship, where he is furthering his knowledge on circular economy and environmental policy across Europe and the United Kingdom. With proven leadership, project management, and team-building skills, along with a strong analytical mindset and a deep passion for development, Aliyu has successfully led the implementation of continent-wide climate action, social empowerment, and circular economy-related projects across Africa. Aliyu is a member of international professional organizations, including the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) and the International Society for Industrial Ecology. His work has earned him numerous prestigious awards, including the 2025 Sir Cyril Taylor Young African Leaders Fellow, the 2023 Green Skill Award, the 2022 OXFAM Youth Spotlight Award, the 2021 Best African Youth for Environment Fellow, a 2021 nominee for The Future Awards Africa, and the 2021 Global Recycling Hero Award. Moreover, Ecocykle, an organization that he co-founded, has also received 2 national honors, including the award for Eco-Green Sanitation Innovators.
