Allen Kimambo is a Chemical Engineer, an environmentalist and a social entrepreneur who saw the opportunity to create employment by solving waste challenges in Africa.
Currently, Allen is a co-founder and CEO of Zaidi Recyclers Ltd, a tech-enabled social enterprise in Tanzania which has also developed the Zaidi App to help people and organisations sort and recycle easily.
He is a Founding Member at TakaNiAjira Foundation Tanzania, Uganda & Kenya, Chairperson at Tanzania Recyclers Association -TARA, Founding Member at Tz Startup Association and Member at Solid Waste Technical Committee.
Allen has worked at the managerial level with two multinational companies Unilever & Bollore Logistics for 8 years and successfully ran and excelled with the tea quality project TANOZAIDI at Unilever Tea East Africa.
He is a Winning African Entrepreneurship Award 2017 in Morocco, the Tony Elumelu Award 2017, the HFID COVID-19 challenge award and SIMP Africa 2020.
During the COVID-19 crisis Allen and his team designed low-cost face shields from plastic bottles and sold over 10000 pieces. This has been featured in many national and international media
