Dr. Chris Sherrington is an environmental economist and directs many of Eunomia’s projects relating to ecosystem services, green infrastructure, litter (including marine litter) and waste prevention.
He has expertise in the practical application of economic instruments to bring about positive change in a cost-effective manner, and in the use of economic techniques such as cost-benefit analysis (CBA), to appraise options. His particular focus is on measures to increase resource efficiency and advance the development of a circular economy.
Chris’s recent and current projects include a study for the UN Environment Programme on the impacts of marine litter on migratory species, and the development of a methodology for the Clean Europe Network to see how examine whether measures to prevent litter entering the aquatic environment are effective, a payment for ecosystems services (PES) pilot research study for Defra, and a ‘proof of concept’ green infrastructure toolkit for Natural England among many others.
