Christopher Lund, PE, PSS, is Senior Vice President of Gershman, Brickner & Bratton, Inc. (GBB), a solid waste management consulting firm headquartered in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. He has been the key project team leader for GBB, which is the appointed Receiver for the Guam Solid Waste Authority since a March 2008 Court Order issued by the United States District Court of Guam, providing overall engineering and project management. As part of the Receivership team, Mr. Lund has led a key role in the 180-degree turnaround of the solid waste management system on the island of Guam. He is performing the planning, and management of the day to day project engineering, quality assurance review and analysis, and environmental management for a consortium of engineering and environmental firms conducting design, permitting and compliance reporting, and construction management. Additionally Mr. Lund executes design, environmental, and construction procurements for the new landfill construction, operations, permitting, environmental compliance, and dump closure projects. Prior to joining GBB, Mr. Lund worked and lived on Guam and other Micronesian islands from 1990 until 2006. From 2000 to 2006, he worked for the Guam Environmental Protection Agency as their Chief Engineer and Water Division Director. In that role, he has contributed to the Pacific Islands Environmental Conferences, the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environmental Program, and provided assistance to the United Nations Environmental Program for a seminar and learning lecture series on sewage waste management on Pacific Islands. Mr. Lund holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, WI.
