Cindy Isenhour

Assistant Professor of Anthropology, University of Maine

Cindy Isenhour is an Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the University of Maine. She is also affiliated with the Climate Change Institute, the School of Economics and the Senator George J. Mitchell Center for Sustainability Solutions at the University of Maine. Isenhour’s work focuses on production-consumption systems and the cultural construction of policies designed to reduce materials throughput, energy use, emissions and waste. She has published in the Journal of Cleaner Production, Environment and Society, Local Environment, American Ethnologist, Conservation and Society and is the coeditor (with Melissa Checker and Gary McDonogh) of a book entitled, Sustainability in the Global City: Myth and Practice (Cambridge 2015).
