David Newman is the President of the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) and the Managing Director of the Bio-based and Biodegradable Industries Association (BBIA). He has been the President of ISWA since September 2012 and is specifically focusing his attention on bringing financial resources to help developing nations invest in waste infrastructure.
David Newman works with people to create environments that are defined by quality results in both the political and the financial fields. The way he works is informed by a versatile and varied background of work in different sectors, which includes the highly competitive paper trading business, the restoration and property development business and the NGO voluntary sectors.
His passion is to build relationships, develop collaborative associations and partnerships that collectively make a real difference. He helped found and set up the Italian Association of Bioplastics, Assobioplastiche, in 2011 and in 2015 he became the Managing Director of the new UK association BBIA.
