Deepali has over 20 years of experience in the waste management sector, especially in the domain of EPR-related waste streams such as e-waste, plastics, solar waste and ELVs. As an international circular economy expert, she has worked on projects in Asia, Africa, Europe and South America for multilateral agencies, UN organisations, governments, private sector companies (SMEs and multinationals) and foundations/ not-for-profits. Her engagements have encompassed policy and regulation, technical and financial assessments, standards developments, stakeholder engagements and capacity-building support and advisory. She has extensive experience in conducting baseline assessments, stakeholder consultations, in-depth research from primary and secondary sources, developing case studies, and an extensive industry network across government and industry, both in India and across the world. She has a PhD in International Management from the University of St.Gallen, Switzerland where her thesis was on modelling e-waste flows linked to consumer behaviour.
She lives in Mumbai and is a co-founder of E[co]work, a social enterprise working with the informal waste sector to support their formalisation and mainstreaming.
