Dr. Parveen Kumar is working as an independent consultant specialising in e-waste and battery recycling for the recovery of valuable materials since April 2025. Dr. Kumar has been recognized by CSIR-India as a domain expert group member for his contributions to lithium-ion battery recycling and e-waste management.
He previously served as Head of Research and Development at Exigo Recycling Pvt Ltd, Haryana, India. He earned a Ph.D. jointly from CSIR-CSIO and Panjab University, Chandigarh. He has also worked as post doctoral dellow in IISER, Mohali, Punjab and Kurukshetra University, Haryana. He has worked as a DST-INSPIRE faculty member (and Assistant Professor, AcSIR-New Delhi) at CSIR-CSIO, Chandigarh, where he focused on graphene-based biosensor development and critical material extraction from e-waste and batteries.
Dr. Kumar has also made significant academic contributions, having supervised 4 Ph.D. and 10 Master's/B.Tech students, with two students currently pursuing Ph.D. degrees in an industry-sponsored mode. He has a strong publication record, including patents, research articles, review articles, and book chapters in peer-reviewed journals. Furthermore, he has been a key team member and Co-PI in various government-funded projects ( DST, CSIR, and ICMR), and industry-sponsored projects, and has successfully developed and transferred several key technologies.
