Karen Ellis is the founder of Mend It, Australia (MiA), a leading advocate for repair culture and Right to Repair legislation. With a Graduate Diploma in Community Health and decades of experience in community advocacy, sustainability, and social justice, Karen has driven MiA’s mission to promote reuse and repair since 2015. She has contributed to numerous state and federal parliamentary submissions on repair policy and serves on the Australian Repair Network’s Steering Committee.
Karen’s work empowers communities to embrace repair as mainstream, champions legislative change, and promotes the environmental and economic benefits of repair. She is also a dedicated mender of her own possessions.
