A waste management professional with over 13 years of experience in the waste management and resource efficiency domains. He is currently with the India Country Office of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) as an Assistant Programme Management Officer in New Delhi.
Prior to UNEP, he has been associated with research and consulting firms such as The Energy Research Institute (TERI), Ernst & Young and has been involved in providing policy advisory and implementation support on municipal solid waste management with a focus on plastic and organic waste.
He also has a specific research interest in the co-processing of plastic waste and waste to energy, and he has had the experience of working with the municipal and state governments in India to execute solid waste audits and implement solutions. He brings with him a culture of management consulting and experience working as a part of the government, academia, and NGOs.
Kaushik Chandrasekhar has a bachelor’s degree in engineering from BITS Pilani and a postgraduate diploma in environmental law and policy and renewable energy.
