Kristyn Oldendorf

Director of Public Policy, Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA)

Kristyn Oldendorf is the Director of Public Policy for the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA), leading advocacy and public affairs initiatives for the organization. Prior to joining SWANA, she worked for the City of Baltimore, first in legislative and policy roles and then as Chief of Waste Diversion and Operational Support. In addition, Kristyn led the Resource Recovery and Waste service line at Anthesis Group, an international sustainability consulting company, supporting major brands with establishing and pursuing their waste reduction and diversion goals. Kristyn’s work in the solid waste and resource management sector began with setting up community recycling programs in rural Honduras during her service as a Peace Corps Volunteer. She has also volunteered on USAID-sponsored waste policy projects in Tanzania. Kristyn received a B.A. in International Studies from American University and a Master of Public Policy degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
