Madisen Gittlin

Program Assistant with Global Green

Madisen Gittlin is a Program Assistant with Global Green, a national environmental nonprofit, and the American affiliate of Green Cross International. Madisen works in Global Green’s Green Urbanism Program and the Coalition for Resource Recovery, helping to expand and implement food waste diversion programs across California. Prior to Global Green, Madisen has interned for CalPIRG, leading their UCSB chapter in the fight to ban plastic grocery bags in California as well as interned for local farmers markets and the Santa Barbara Department of Public Health working with various food and waste issues. Madisen has a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara where she focused on waste management, resource recovery, and the role of diet in global climate change. She also studied at Utrecht University in the Netherlands in their Department of Environmental Science and Innovation Management.
