Mr. S. Jyoti Kumar is a 45 year old Mechanical Engineer with about 20 years of experience in diversified fields. At present he is representing Andhra Pradesh Technology Development and Promotion Centre (APTDC) as its Director and Head. Under his leadership, APTDC achieved a leadership position in its key areas of operation such as IPR, Agriculture and Waste Management. APTDC has been established by the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Technology Information, Forecasting & Assessment Council (TIFAC) as a one-stop shop for Technology Development & Promotion, Technology up-gradation and Induction of
New Technologies as a unique model in the country. In the area of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) Management, APTDC along with its Network Partners is involved in several projects for effectively processing municipal solid waste into useful products such as Organic Manure, Fuel Pellets, and Electricity.
Mr. Kumar has been in the Municipal Solid Waste Management profession for over a decade and has been associated with several projects across the country from concept to commissioning. His experience in municipal solid waste management is spread across Processing Technologies such as Composting and Refuse Derived Fuel, Sanitary Land Filling and Waste to Energy Projects. He is a member of the CII National Task Force on Municipal Solid Waste Management and has been personally involved in coming out with the top ten policy recommendations on municipal solid waste management for India.
Mr. Kumar has delivered theme speeches in various national and international conferences on IPR, Modern Technologies for Agriculture and Waste Management.
Mr. Kumar started his career at ITC Ltd. as a Mechanical Engineer and moved on to Software and Automation Projects before joining APTDC.
