Black Soldier Fly (BSF) bioconversion is quickly becoming one of the most promising solutions for sustainable biowaste treatment in Africa and beyond. What makes this groundbreaking development even more interesting is how BSF systems readily interact with other circular-economy technologies, one of the most promising of which being biochar. More and more practitioners are working with frass-biochar mixes, which provide a “supercharged” soil amendment that enhances nutrient retention, soil structure, and carbon sequestration. Nonetheless, awareness of this technique is fragmented.

This webinar has focused on why blending frass and biochar makes agronomic and environmental sense. Discover how this synergy can improve BSF value chains, as well as real case studies from BSF producers that have already implemented the strategy and open questions and research needs for scaling up!
