What is really happening to plastics across Indonesia, and why are current solutions falling short? Drawing on work from the PISCES partnership, this paper introduces the Complex Value Optimisation for Resource Recovery (CVORR+) approach, a holistic, systems-based framework and analytical toolkit that goes beyond conventional linear analyses. By combining material and monetary flows with stakeholder dynamics and governance structures, the webinar uncovers critical challenges, such as plastic leakage, misaligned incentives, and underperforming recovery systems.
It also highlights where the greatest opportunities lie to drive meaningful change.
