Alejandro is a circular economy expert with over 24 years of national and international experience in waste and environmental management, sustainability and clean production. He is a renowned teacher and researcher, who has written four books on waste and sustainable development. He holds a master´s degree in Environmental Engineering and he is currently finishing his doctoral studies in management. He is coordinator of the Ibero-American network of resources for circular economy (RIGREC) and is based in Bogotá, Colombia. Alejandro is certified as an Associate in Sustainability by the ISSP (International Society of Sustainability Professionals), member of ISWA (International Solid Waste Association), the circular economy platform of the Americas and the International Biochar Initiative. He is a member of the Steering Committee of the Colombian Council for Sustainable Construction, and was part of the Advisory Council of AASHE (Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education, USA) and the technical committee of ASPPIRE project (Ocean Conservancy). During twenty years of professional practice He has been an entrepreneur, consultant, program director and environmental manager, managing work with micro, small and medium industries, as well as assisting 13 of the 100 largest Colombian companies. He is the director of the C2C Hub, which contributed to the first certification of a C2C product in Latin America in 2019.
