Swati Singh Sambyal

Expert, Capacity Development, Waste and Marine Litter Programme, GRID-Arendal

Swati Singh Sambyal is a researcher specializing in resource management and the circular economy. With extensive experience (over 14 years) in the Global South, her work has widely focussed on developing and implementing waste management policies, piloting models that integrate vulnerable communities, and generating livelihoods. Swati is currently associated with GRID-Arendal, a Norwegian environment, science, and communication agency. She has previously worked with the UN-HABITAT Regional Office for Asia and Pacific (ROAP) and was the Head of Programme on Waste Management at Centre for Science and Environment. Her consultancy assignments include projects with UNEP India Country Office and the World Bank DC office. Swati has led and participated in numerous development, research, and training projects and is a regular public speaker and writer at national and international forums. Her contributions include several publications in her field.
